License
Most Lucky 13 designs are free to download and made available under a Creative Commons - Attribution 4.0 license.
Designs which are sold in the Printables Store or other paid storefronts use a standard license (personal use only) with additional Seller Licenses available through Printables Clubs.
License Terms for Free Models
Creative Commons License Terms
All Lucky 13 designs which are available for free download are distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY) license.
Under this license, you are free to share, modify, and sell these designs, provided that you give appropriate credit to the source (and don't break the law). More information can be found on the Creative Commons Wiki.
What does "appropriate credit" look like? Each model's download page will show you what information you need to include. In general, you should follow CC's recommended practices for attribution by providing the Title, Author, Source, and License.
For example:
LUCKY 13 Printable Jointed Figure © 2022 by Gabe Rosiak is licensed under CC BY 4.0
It's all too common for 3D printed goods to show up in online stores with no credit to their original authors. The more time creators have to spend defending their copyright, the less time they can spend creating. By providing proper attribution, you help support Lucky 13 Toys in designing high quality toys that are accessible to everyone.
Free Model Licensing FAQ
The following FAQ applies to free downloads only.
Can I buy a commercial license?
No, because you don't need one.
Can I sell this in my online store? At a craft fair? At my school?
Yes. Just include an attribution notice like the example above (and don't hide it!)
Please remember that remixes by others are not covered under the base model's license, and you will need permission from from the remixer to sell them.
Can I use this in my video project?
Yes. Again, please give credit somewhere. If you need a signed release form, email licensing@lucky13toys.com.
Can I modify your design and use it as the base for my own product?
Yes, but this would qualify as a "derivative work," so you still have to include the same attribution notice.
Can I give you some of the money I made selling your work?
Yes please. PayPal / Stripe / BMaC

License Terms for Paid Models
Standard Digital File License Terms
All Lucky 13 models which are available in the Printables Store or other paid storefronts use a standard digital file license. Below are the license terms as listed on Printables.
-
This work is licensed under a Standard Digital File License.
Digital files have a strict non-commercial, personal use only license.
You shall not share, sub-license, sell, rent, host, transfer, or distribute in any way the digital file or 3D printed versions of this object, nor any other derivative work of this object in its digital or physical format (including remixes of this object).
You can not host these files on other digital platforms, web stores or cloud repositories.
The objects may not be used in any way whatsoever in which you charge money, collect fees.
-
In short: you bought these files, and they're for you to use - don't share them and don't sell them!
If you wish to sell prints of paid Lucky 13 models, you must obtain a Seller License. See the next section for details.
Seller License Terms
Commercial use of paid Lucky 13 models is enabled through Seller Licenses. These are handled through my Printables Club.
There are two tiers of Seller License available.
Limited Seller License: $25/month, sell up to 100 units total from the paid models available in my Printables Store.
Extended Seller License: $100/month, sales are not limited.
You must have an active Seller License of the appropriate level for as long as your store is active.
The Seller License applies to selling physical prints, whether online or in-person. You may not resell the digital files in any circumstance.
You may not "rebrand" the models under a different name. For digital sellers, your product page and all promotional materials must state clearly that the design is sourced from Lucky 13 Toys and link to lucky13toys.com. For in-person sellers, you must include some signage that indicates the source of the design. In all cases, the product packaging should include the same attribution.
You must engage in fair competition with other sellers. You may not harass, "review bomb," or threaten other sellers in any way. You may not imply any exclusive agreement with Lucky 13 Toys.
You may not obtain any trademark, patent, or other legal protection on the design. All these rights are reserved by the original designer.
If you are found to be in violation of the terms of the Seller License, your license may be suspended or revoked.
